ABOUT ANDREW KLAUS-VINEYARD

Writer/Director/Multimedia Artist/Filmmaker

 

Andrew Klaus-Vineyard is an acclaimed theatre director and sound designer as well an internationally exhibited multimedia artist and musician. Works include commissioned visual art for the Tate Museum in London, Documentaries for the State Department, and records as the shoegaze revival project Lovers of the Arctic Circle. Directing highlights include the acclaimed productions of In the Forest, She Grew Fangs by Stephen Spotswood, Hir by Taylor Mac, Insignificance by Terry Johnson, and Slipping by Daniel Talbott.
 

 Klaus-Vineyard is of Inuit, Icelandic, and Jewish descent which fuels his passion for storytelling. He studied contemporary art and practice at Savannah College of Art and Design and holds a degree in Queer, Feminist, and Marxist Theory in Media Analysis and Time-Based Art from Portland State University and an MFA in directing University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. 

 

In addition, Klaus-Vineyard is a theatrical intimacy director with an interest in intimacy coordination for film and television.

 

   His work has been featured in American Theatre Magazine, OUT Magazine, The Oregonian, The Advocate, Just Out, Spectrum, PQ Monthly, Bitches Brew, Musée Magazine and The Feminist Review.

 

He currently resides Los Angeles, California
